Oil Painting Details

Painting Materials:

I use Australian made artist quality Art Spectrum oil paints. My main palette colours are: Titanium White, Cobalt Blue, Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian, Cadmium Red, Light Red, Cadmium Orange, Permanent Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber.

Painting Surface:

I mainly use primed artist canvas over stretcher bars. I also use 3mm Craftwood (low acid) Artist board which has been primed with an acrylic priming paint.

Framing: A matter of personal taste

Many of my paintings on canvas stretcher bars look their best unframed when I paint around the edge of the canvas. The unframed canvas has a very modern clean look. However, traditionally, oil paintings have been framed using timber mouldings to compliment the painting, which is also very effective. Thus, I do frame many of my Artist board paintings, in this way. If you are unsure of framing, have a chat to me so we can develop a framing method that will suit the painting and decor.

Sizes and Prices:

Paintings come in several standard sizes or a custom size can be made for a client commission. Paintings are sold framed or unframed and ready to hang on your wall and can be delivered anywhere in the world. The cost of a painting depends on the size and the amount of time and artwork to complete the painting. The best way to get an actual cost is to discuss your requirements with one of my gallery directors or me.
